Precious Jade is set in the Victorian period and is the story of young man looking for love. Jade finds that love in the arms of an older and wiser man who teaches him about self discipline, as well as the art of BDSM.

When it comes to books in the BDSM genre, I’m pretty much a neophyte. With stories that contain the elements of Bondage & Discipline, Dominance & Submission and Sadism & Masochism, I’m very picky. I need, first and foremost, romance; but I’m also fairly squeamish. Cruelty, physical or mental, causes a negative reaction in me that I cannot just shake off. But I really liked Fyn Alexander’s Precious Jade.

I personally don’t get the lifestyle at all, but Fyn Alexander did such a wonderful job in the descriptions of the characters and situations that I could, through their eyes and minds, understand the need and satisfaction that they experienced. It actually worked for me within the context presented; for a first book Fyn Alexander has written a strong and very coherent story that took me along and I left their world feeling very good.

There is another story running along that of Jade and his Master as they find their way through the relationship; this is also an emotional minefield but done with a sense of justice and a rather wry sense of humour… I loved it!

I’m certainly very interested in anything else this fine author comes out with and I only hope that we don’t have to wait too long.
